Terms of Service

These terms apply to the use of this website and to quotations and work carried out by LayPave. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Agreement

By using this website or accepting a quotation from us, you agree to these terms. If anything in a written quotation differs from this page, the quotation takes precedence for that job.

2. Services

LayPave provides the following services across Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and the surrounding Gloucestershire area:

  • Patios & Paving
  • Driveway Repairs & Resurfacing
  • Brick steps and walls, garden landscaping, ACO drainage and dropped kerbs

3. Quotations

Every quotation follows a free, no-obligation site survey. Quotations are itemised, valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and based on the conditions visible at the time of the survey. Where ground conditions turn out to be materially different once excavation starts, for example unrecorded services, made ground or a soakaway that has to be relocated, we will stop, explain the position and agree any change in writing with you before continuing.

4. Payment

We do not take deposits or upfront payments. Payment is due on completion of the work, once you are satisfied with it, unless a different schedule is agreed in writing for a large or phased project. All prices are quoted in GBP. We accept cash, bank transfer, credit card, debit card.

5. Scheduling and cancellations

Start dates are agreed in advance and depend on the weather, which matters a great deal for laying tarmac, resin and mortar. We will keep you informed if conditions force a change. If you need to cancel or postpone booked work, please tell us as early as you can so materials and labour can be redirected. Where materials have been cut, mixed or ordered specifically for your job, we may ask you to cover those costs.

6. Guarantee and insurance

Our workmanship is guaranteed and we hold public liability insurance. We are a vetted TrustATrader member and work is covered by the TrustATrader Guarantee. The guarantee covers defects in our workmanship. It does not cover damage caused by third parties, by vehicles or loads beyond normal domestic use, by subsequent excavation or by ground movement outside our control. Report any concern to us promptly and we will inspect it.

7. Your responsibilities

  • Provide reasonable access to the working area and, where possible, to water and power
  • Tell us about any known underground services, drains or soakaways on the property
  • Obtain any permission required from a landlord, management company or neighbour where the work affects shared land
  • Keep vehicles, pets and children clear of the working area while work is in progress
  • Follow curing advice, particularly on new tarmac, resin and mortar joints

8. Planning and drainage

Where a new surface may require planning permission or a drainage solution under permitted development rules, we will raise it at the survey and specify compliant drainage as part of the quotation. Responsibility for obtaining any planning consent or dropped kerb approval rests with the property owner, though we can advise and carry out the work required.

9. Limitation of liability

We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our negligence or failure to carry out the work with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Website content and images

Content on this website is provided for general information. Photographs of completed work are illustrative, and finished results vary with materials, site conditions and weather. All text, images and branding on this site belong to LayPave unless stated otherwise.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
