Our story
Built on finished jobs, not sales patter
LayPave exists to do driveway and paving work that stands up over time. That sounds obvious until you have seen how many drives around Gloucestershire were laid straight onto soft ground with a thin skim on top, and started breaking up inside three winters.
We do it the long way instead. Full excavation, geotextile membrane where the ground needs it, an MOT Type 1 sub-base compacted in layers, edge restraints set in concrete, and drainage falls that take water away from your house rather than towards it. It costs more in labour and it is the reason our drives are still flat a decade later.
The no-deposit promise came from the same place. Homeowners hear plenty of stories about traders who take money up front and disappear, so we removed that risk entirely. You pay when the work is finished and you are satisfied with it, not before. It has worked for 30 years and it keeps the pressure exactly where it should be, on us.

No deposit, ever
We carry the risk, not you. No money changes hands until the job is finished and you have walked it with us. It has been that way from the start and it will not change.
Honest advice, even when it costs us
If your drive needs a repair rather than a replacement, we say so. If we think another material suits your house better, we say that too.
The base gets built properly
Full excavation, MOT Type 1 sub-base, compacted in layers, with real edge restraints. It is the part you never see and the part that decides everything.
We tidy up
Spoil carted away, kerbs swept, nothing left behind for you to sort out. You should be able to park on it the day we finish.

Gus is the owner and lead installer at LayPave, with over 30 years of hands-on experience installing driveways and paving across Gloucester, Cheltenham and Gloucestershire. He personally oversees every project, from the free survey to the final compaction, and built the business on guaranteed workmanship and a no-deposit promise.
